Carbon Neutrality

LaabamOne has set an ambitious goal: achieve operational carbon neutrality by 2028. Our journey began with a comprehensive Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions audit conducted by an independent third-party verifier in 2023. The baseline revealed that employee travel and electricity consumption together account for over 70 percent of our total footprint, giving us clear reduction priorities.

On the reduction side we have moved to virtual-first client engagements, cutting business air travel by 60 percent compared to pre-2020 levels. Our Madurai campus now draws 30 percent of its power from rooftop solar panels, while our Sligo and Melbourne offices source 100 percent renewable electricity through certified green tariffs. Server workloads are being progressively migrated to carbon-neutral cloud regions.

For residual emissions that cannot yet be eliminated, LaabamOne purchases Gold Standard-verified carbon offsets that fund reforestation and clean-cookstove projects in rural India. Each offset is transparently documented and published in our annual sustainability report, ensuring credibility and traceability for our clients and stakeholders.

Our 2028 Roadmap

The roadmap to 2028 is broken into annual milestones: complete solar expansion in Madurai by 2026, electrify the remaining fleet vehicles by 2027, and reach net-zero operational emissions by end of 2028. Each milestone has a designated owner at the leadership level, ensuring accountability cascades from the boardroom to every team.
